Last week our church attended a tent meeting with Bro. John Morgan hosted by Pastor Steve Powers and Oconee Baptist Church in Bishop , GA.   We thoroughly enjoyed hearing all of the other preachers who also preached.  The meeting was a great blessing and help to us all.

On Saturday night our church held a Passover demonstration where I looked at the Jewish holiday and the typology associated with Christ's death, burial, and resurrection.  In Jewish homes, they spend an entire week cleaning house to make sure the leaven is out.  What better way for a Christian to "clean house" than to sit under Bro. Morgan for a week.  We had several visitors show up for the passover event.

On Easter morning we had several more first time visitors.  Then we had even more on Sunday night.  Praise the Lord!

On Thursday night, April 16, Bro. Christopher Rogers will be preaching for us.  He is one of the finest young preachers I know and is a great role model for the young men in our church. He and his wife Courtney are great examples for showing that God will abundantly reward young people who seek first the kingdom of God.  Bro. Rogers preached at our first youth conference, but this will the first time he's preached in a regular service for us, We are excited about this meeting.

On Thursday night, April 30, Bro. Bobby Barnes will be preaching in our services.  He and his wife Patty have known my wife since she was a young girl in the Tabernacle Childrens' Home.  He is not only a great man of God, but a dear friend to our family.

Finally, on Sunday, May 17, Bro. Randy Sutherland will be preaching in our Sunday services.  I know this sounds redundant, but he is another of my favorite preachers.  I guess I just love good preachers!  I hope you'll make plans to join us for this service as well.

We have 14 weeks left until the the baby is due.  Lord willing, he should be here around July 10.  As you can see, there's a lot going on around Messiah Baptist Church.  Please continue to pray for us.
