New Year Happenings

The new year has started with both bitter and sweet.  First the bitter.  One of the kids that rides our bus will be moving soon.  She has been a great blessing to our church and we will miss her a lot.  Today we threw her a going away party with a complete meal and "we'll miss you" cake.

Now the sweet.  We have started some remodelling work which we desparately needed.  Eighteen people showed up on Saturday to help us with sheetrock work and other various projects.  Special thanks to Bro. Tim Hughes and Bro. Dan. Jarrett from Victory Baptist Church of Goodwater, Alabama for their help.

On January 25, Bro. Craig Ogle, pastor of Faith Baptist Church of Sylacauga, Alabama will be preaching in our services.  We have wanted Bro. Ogle to visit for a long time, but because of his pastoral duties this is the first opportunity he has had to come.  Bro. Ogle's sixteen year old son, Brad was diagnosed last year with a brain tumor.  His mother said that even on the days of his chemo treatments he never stopped singing and playing his guitar in church and that he never lost his smile.  God has moved in a mighty way on their behalf, and Brad is now cancer free with doctors saying that there little chance of it returning.  Bro. Ogle was a great man of God even before this trial.  Since then he has been tried and purified and has come forth as gold. Please make plans to attend this very special service.

My wife is now entering the second trimester.  We have had no complications whatsoever and she has not been considered high risk after all.  She wants a girl this time.  With Isaac she had to visit the doctor twice per week for a while mainly as a precaution.  She later had to visit only every other week.  With this child, none of the factors are present to cause her to need special care or attention.  Praise the Lord!
