Update on Our Building

Thank you for taking the time to read our letter and to pray for our ministry. The church is doing extremely well, but we are still having a hard time finding a building. We thought we had found the perfect spot when we came across a 3,000 sq foot store front located at the busiest intersection in the city right in front of the shopping mall. It was previously used as a church so it already had the platform, sound booth, Sunday School rooms, cantilevered ceilings, etc. Everything was absolutely beautiful. There were only two faults: 1.) Since the space had recently been divided, we would have to install two restrooms. 2.) Even though the landlord offered us a huge discount because of fault number one, the rent was still $2,500 per month. Both of these posed big problems for us. The second problem was solved quickly. On the Sunday that I told our church about the building, a man pledged a VERY large amount. PRAISE GOD!

The first problem proved to be more of a hurdle. Again I’ll give you the abbreviated version. In this area, everything has to comply with very strict city codes. Just to get the pipes in the ground, we received estimates from $9,000 to $14,000. This did not include any of the restroom facilities, electrical, construction, or HVAC costs. Needless to say, we didn’t lease the building. We called our very generous donor to tell him to void the check since we did not get the building, but he said that he would honor the pledge no matter which building we get. Please pray that we'll find the building God has for us.
