I would like to begin by saying “thank you” to everyone who has asked about my wife and the baby recently. I am happy to report that things are going great. Because of the four previous miscarriages, my wife is still considered at high risk. We have had to see two separate doctors each month. That means that every other Thursday is spent traveling to Augusta for a checkup.

Though things are fine, we have had a few scares. On the first sonogram, the nurse told my wife that she did not see a baby. After 15 minutes crying in the waiting room, the doctor explained that it’s because it was too early to see a baby. Everything was fine. On another visit we were told that the baby had a cyst on its brain. The they said that many babies get it and it goes away in 2-3 weeks. Again, everything turned out fine and the cyst went away. On yet another visit they said my wife was borderline for gestational diabetes. One visit (and many prayers) later, everything again checked out great. Thank God for answering prayer. God still blesses those who bless Israel. I will be glad when little Isaac finally gets here!

On November 12, 2006, We finally had our first convert at the church. For six months we have distributed tracts, posted flyers, and knocked on thousands of doors. We’ve had visitors, but this was the first person we’ve seen saved. Praise the Lord.

Because Athens is a college town, they have a lot of hoops you have to jump through to post flyers. We have now been granted permission from a group on the UGA campus to post our free Hebrew/English Bible offers inside the college buildings on the bulletin boards. To date, 15 Jewish college students have received a Hebrew/English New Testament. We will also be allowed to set up a table on campus to distribute the tracts and Bibles during their “Walk through Israel Day.” Because this is held in remembrance of the Holocaust, many Jews attend. Last year there were booths for the B’hai faith and the Greek Orthodox church. Shamefully, there was nothing even close to Baptist there. Lord willing, next time there will be! Please continue to pray for us.
