Our church started as a mission of Grace Baptist Church of Warrenton, GA. For the first year, Bro. Sims preached to seven people in a classroom on the campus of the University of Georgia. We have knocked on thousands of doors, mailed postcards, preached on the streets, posted flyers, and everything else we know to do in an effort to tell people about salvation in Jesus Christ. The Lord finally began to add families to the church and enabled us to lease a storefront building near the Sandy Creek Nature Center. For this we are thankful!

The Lord has really been blessing our church lately and our efforts to evangelize the Athens, Georgia community. Recently we have been having at least twenty visitors in our Sunday morning services. Many who have been coming have said that they will try to get their spouse and friends to come also.

We are a family of believers who join together to worship and serve the Lord. Our services are open to all who wish to worship the Lord with us. For those looking for a church home or simply a place to seek God, Messiah Baptist Church welcomes you to join us!
